Christmas exhibition of LABORATORIA narrates the fairytales combined with their scientific interpretations. BRATJA-JUNGI are the personages of the show who share their scientific and lyrical reflections on the works speaking from the monitors around citing the scholars they respect like Freud, Marx, Grof, Michurin, and Yung, their namesake.
The artworks bridge tale and science like the archetypal clay house with fire by Alexander Brodsky, the destiny clew by Sasha Soukhareva, the return of Star Wars heroes and Pirates of the Caribbean by Pavel Peppershtein, The Divers by Leonid Tishkov, physics&lyrics adventures by Georgui Letichevsky, the transformation of lines into verses by Olga Chernysheva, stories on Michurin and Lepeshinskaya discoveries by Igor Makarevich and Elena Elagina, and Nikolay Oleinikov’s poems set to the metaphoric graffiti The Embarrassments of a Scientist by 310 Group.
Scientific reflections and art statements interplay, cross and intersect. By that the new space is created full of magic opportunity for a spectator – either to plunge into the art alchemy or to follow the rigorous logic of a fairytale structure by Vladimir Propp.
